The Dubai Textile Souk also known as the Old Textile Souk is a traditional souq (market) of textile products located in Dubai’s historic Bur Dubai neighbourhood. Opposite to the textile souk on the other side of the Dubai Creek lie the Dubai Spice Souk and Dubai Gold Souk in Deira.
The Dubai Textile Souk offers a large number of small shops selling a wide range of products including fabrics, clothes, footwear, and souvenirs.
You can choose through an endless selection of raw silk, cotton, and embroidered fabrics at this market. You’re bound to find the exact print and color you’re looking for among the reels of cloth, or hunt out sparkling sequins, buttons, and lace.
The souk is located in Bur Dubai, on the southern side of the creek. If you are travelling by Metro you can alight at either Al Fahidi Metro Station or Al Ghubaiba Metro Station. It’s also possible to take a traditional abra water taxi across the Creek to get here — the ride costs just one dirham and lets you experience the historic neighbourhoods from the water.
Afterwards, treat yourself to an Arabic delicacy at the Bayt Al Wakeel restaurant, located next to the abra station. Bayt Al Wakeel houses a maritime museum and a heritage restaurant with an outdoor deck rising over the lively Dubai Creek. Its authentic atmosphere draws crowds who enjoy Levantine and Emirati classics like lamb kebabs, seafood and citrus-splashed salads, and always finds them staying for the view.
