Video First design for Hyperloop designed to connect Abu Dhabi & Dubai

Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group “BIG” has published a teaser video showing off its design of a Hyperloop project. The design of the Hyperloop is a transport system that will take commuters to Dubai from Abu Dhabi in less than 15 minutes. The project’s official launch will be in Dubai on November 7.

The video shows a network of tubes on Y-shaped tilts, and one of the pods that will pass through it.

You can also explore a map that shows the future route of the Hyperloop. From the UAE capital,  the link will pass through Abu Dhabi Airport, Al Maktoum Airport and Dubai Airport. There will also be connections for Khalifa Port and Jebel Ali Port.

As a reminder, Hyperloop is a system that uses a low-pressure pipe linking two stations, enabling passenger capsules within the tube to travel at high speeds of up to 1,200km/h. The idea originally came from Elon Musk, who developed Tesla Motors. It’s also thought Hyperloop could end up costing 10 per cent less that traditional trains and metro systems in the long term.
