Taking place between 24 to 29 this October, Dubai Design Week is an annual event/program held city-wide in ‘celebration of design’ encompassing culture, education and entertainment; and “spanning multiple disciplines of design, from graphic and product design to architecture and industrial design”.
Throughout their website, Dubai Design Week is described as “a diverse 6-day programme of keynote speeches, panel discussions, public performances and educational workshops”. These activities will allow all visitors – from local start-ups and entrepreneurs to international visitors, the media and families – the opportunity to discover and engage with design.
This event is held to encourages the growth of the “design industry” in Dubai and not only aims to establish the city as the regional capital for design, but also as a global meeting point for the international design community.
It worth noting that this upcoming event is held in partnership with Dubai Design District (d3), and under the Patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-Chairman of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. The Design Week is also supported by both the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (DCAA), and the Dubai Design and Fashion Council (DDFC).
