“Covering the entire 11km length of Palm Jumeirah’s protective crescent”, an even more attractive construction was added to this extraordinary man-made island. We’re talking about the new Boardwalk at Palm Jumeirah, which is ” gearing up for its grand opening in November” according to the master developer Al Nakheel.
“The Boardwalk has transformed Palm Jumeirah’s crescent into a vibrant destination for fitness, leisure, shopping and dining, and is the perfect spot for cycling, jogging or a relaxed waterfront stroll”, A Nakheel spokesman noted.
As soon as it is completed, the AED150 million ($40.8m) development will be home to around 20 food trucks – serving everything from fish and chips to falafel, and spaghetti to shawarma – the first of which are already open for business.
The Boardwalk has been created by building over the rocks of the island’s breakwater, and is accessible from 14 points along the existing sidewalk and on the doorstep of an array of world-famous resorts.
