HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Interior, awarded the Second Class Rescue Medal to First Warrant Officer Rashid Abdullah Mohammed Al Ra’aisi, from the Ajman Police General Headquarters. in recognition of the First Warrant Officer’s courage and positive citizenship in rescuing a young citizen from drowning at Hamriya beach in Sharjah.
His Highness praised the bravery of Al Raaisi, as well as his dedication and responsible conduct, as well as his struggling against the waves to save the life Emirati young man, who almost drowned due to extreme fatigue.
His Highness stressed that this chivalrous act reflects the nobility of the UAE people and their dedication in providing a helping hand to anyone who needs it. Furthermore, His Highness encouraged people of the UAE to continue this gracious and civilized spirit.
Mr Al Raaisi expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Interior, but insisted his actions were but part of his “humanitarian and national duty to serve his homeland”. He also vowed to exert further efforts to serve his homeland in the name of the Ministry of Interior, whose primary aim is to maintain the security and safety of the country and its residents.
