Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre (DUCTAC) in Dubai is a perfect place for local theatre-lovers and arts enthusiasts. It was officially opened in November 2006, by HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
DUCTAC is the first modern, non-profit, cross-community creative center in the Gulf hosting a lively international events program and regular courses.
It aims at contributing to the creative and cultural development of Dubai by presenting and hosting a program of events and participatory activities for Dubai’s many multi-national communities and visitors alike. DUCTAC hosts and produces a huge variety of shows, events, exhibitions, workshops and classes spanning almost every creative genre.
The venue of this center includes:
A 543 seat theatre
A 151 capacity studio theatre
A high specification visual arts gallery
Dance and rehearsal studios
Art studios, workshops and classrooms – including a pottery, sculpture and mosaic workshop
Food and beverage facilities
The centre is also home to an Arts Materials Shop and The Old Library.
