The donations on the first day for ” Reading Nation “Ramadan campaign reached Dh10m, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to provide five million books to children in refugee camps and underprivileged schools across the world.

Donations were as follows: Dh10 million from businessmen and local organizations, Etisalat and du topped the list with Dh3 million each, while Dh1 million has been donated by Kanoo Group and Al Ansari Exchange, And Dh300,000 has been donated by the heirs of Obaid Mohammad Al Helou and Dh1.9 million in donations were collected through SMS messages.

Corporate donations start from Dh500,000 and can reach up to Dh10 million.

The “Reading Nation” complement humanitarian Emirates march through the holy month of Ramadan, after previous initiatives have achieved their development objectives in providing food and water to millions of people deprived of basic life necessities around the world.

The “Reading Nation” campaign offers three corporate donation bundles. The Silver Bundle enables donations ranging from Dh1 million to Dh3 million to provide between 100,000 and 300,000 books, The Golden Bundle enables corporations to donate Dh3 million to Dh4 million, providing between 300,000 and 400,000 books, Finally, the Platinum Bundle facilitates corporate donations above Dh5 million to provide 500,000 books and more.

The campaign will distribute two million books to children and students in refugee camps, in addition to providing 2,000 libraries in the Muslim world with two million books, and supporting educational programs of Emirati humanitarian organizations working abroad through the provision of one million books.
