As Dubai hosts a great number of academic institutions offering programs in higher education, large number of these institutions are international universities, with total numbers exceeding 50,000 students. This generally means expat students from abroad or from other emirates who come for education in one of these renowned universities.
Although universities in Dubai generally has lower tuition fees than universities abroad, housing is still relatively of high cost.
In this context, Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, has announced the completion of student accommodation complex facility spanning an area of 10,000 Sq Mts, built at a total investment value of AED56 million.
The student accommodation complex features four buildings of three floors each ,with fully furnished units of different sizes, and can accommodate up to 432 students. All buildings are connected with fiber, procuring active network components, and wireless access points.
This modern and advanced housing facility features the latest, best-in-class international standards to meets the personal and academic needs of students across Dubai.
As for the ground floor of the four buildings, it includes retail shops, food and beverage outlets , recreational common areas, and study halls for the students. Moreover, the entire facility is provided with free Wi-Fi access, through a campus-wide secure wireless network by Avaya.
