If we are talking about the life of Her Highness Sheikha Maitha Bint Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum , we will be mostly talking about sports and competitions. Sports take most of her time, but of course, she still have time for family and charity.
Maitha Bint Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is Sheikha of Dubai and daughter of H.H. Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Shaikha Maitha was born in March 5, 1980, and she is known to be an athlete person with a number of winnings and awards in horse riding, karate, taekwondo and polo.
She took up karate at 20, winning medals at the Asian Games, and became the first woman to represent the UAE at the Olympic Games where she competed in the 67kg taekwondo event in Beijing in 2008. She also won the silver medal at the Women’s Over 60 Kilogram karate event.
In March 2008, the UAE National Olympic Committee announced Sheikha Maitha’s participation at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She participated in taekwondo in the 67 kg category for women. At the same year, she was included as 17th on the list of the “20 Hottest Young Royals” as compiled by Forbes magazine.
Recently, the 34-year-old ambitious Sheikha had a great interest in polo. Although she only started to play polo in 2013, Shaikha Maitha was able to achieve a number of victories in the field. She is a model of insistence, dedication and commitment.
In addition to being a known athlete with a number of winnings and awards, Sheikha Maitha has a kind, human side that makes her keen to be part of charity events and campaigns. As part of Dubai Cares organization, she has participated in a number of campaigns like this in Sudan in 2007 among other events.
