According to the Economist Intelligence Unit , Dubai was able in 2015 to attract 296,491 tourists from abroad to come for treatment, and by 2020, the government is planning to attract 500 thousand people a year. Morevere, medical tourism in the UAE has achieved remarkable growth in which revenue volume reached to $ 400 million in 2015.
The unit stated that health sector in Dubai recorded sustained growth due to the support it gets from the leadership.
Integrated health care facilities and specialized centers are widely available in Dubai, in addition to other centers that are branches of American and European known hospitals.
The number of new hospitals in Dubai is 22 hospitals- including 4 governmental and 18 private, and they are expected to opened within two years.
The Economist Intelligence Unit also confirmed that Dubai Health Authority has launched a new portal website that is comprehensive in terms of services, in order to attract tourists who come for treatment.
The Authority in recent years has focused on organizing its frameworks to assure that all professionals in the health care sector match the highest standards of treatment.
