Dubai Duty Free


Dubai Duty Free (DDF) is the company responsible for the tax-free shopping haven located at Dubai International Airport. It became the largest airport retailer in the world in terms of sales in 2012, representing over 5% of global duty-free sales, generating 2014 revenues of $1.91 billion. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the uncle of the ruler of Dubai, is the company’s chairman whereas Colm McLoughlin is the Executive Vice Chairman.

DDF is managing the retail operations at Dubai International Airport and other affiliated areas on behalf of the Government of Dubai, and is concerned to providing customers with a “first class customer service”, excellent value for the money, a wide range of quality products and a world class shopping environment.


It aims at being recognized as one of the best airport retailers in the world by promoting Dubai as the sports, leisure and business capital of the Middle East, through DDF’s various operations and promotional activities.

Dubai Duty Free has been gaining a number of awards, such as the latest “Travel Retail Operator of the Year” and ‘Middle East Travel Retailer of the Year’.

All stores at DDF are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and are located in all three terminals of the airport. Duty free items can also be purchased on Emirates flights.

The products sold there range is diverse to include Perfumes, Gold and Jewellery, Cigarettes, Electronics, Luggage, Leather Goods and unlimited others, of course featuring the most famous worldly brands of all its items, such as Samsung, Nina Ricci, Prada, Calvin Klein, Montecristo, Delsey, and so much others.

In  1989 Dubai Duty Free introduced its ‘Finest Surprise’ promotion: a 1,000 ticket raffle to win a luxury, world famous car. The promotion has run continuously since then, and later, it had other promotions in addition to the car, such as a world famous motorbike and a million dollars win.
