The Deira Fish Market is located on the Corniche Road in Deira, close to the Gold Souk and Al Shindagha Tunnel. The fish market is the cheapest place in Dubai to buy fresh fish, it’s also an interesting place to visit.
Hundreds of traders offer a huge variety of seafood, caught locally and further afield, which is why you’ll find many of Dubai’s chefs here in the mornings. The traders are chatty and always ready to hustle, with typical bargain basement-style shout-outs of the different types of fish and “best price” claims.
For those shopping for their kitchen, next to the Fish Market there is a large vegetable, fruit, meat and spice market . The vegetables are better than the ones in the supermarkets. There’s also a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, Grill and Shark, right next door, where customers have their seafood cooked on the spot.
The Palm Metro Station and the Gold Souk Bus Station are both within walking distance, and there is a large public car park adjacent to the market.
Opening hours: The market is open from 5am every morning, and starts closing around lunchtime. Auctions take place in the mornings.
