The Tower is part of the continuing Dubai Creek Harbour development that sits near Ras Al Khor. The huge under-construction suburb will feature eight million square feet of retail space, 29,000 apartments and homes, 22 hotels and another project called Dubai Twin Towers (rumoured to be the tallest twin towers in the world, naturally).

Emaar Properties chairman Mohamed Alabbar described the new project as an “elegant monument” which is going to add value to property being developed by the company along city’s creek. “The tower will be slender, evoking the image of a minaret, and will be anchored to the ground with sturdy cables” – Emaar said.
